The list of Oldest Schools in Sri Lanka was compiled after a thorough check in to the history with a quest to find the oldest school in our country. Schools listed are as per the details available currently from various sources and there may be discrepancies of the information.
There are many schools that have been closed due to many reasons (political and social), which are older than the schools that have been listed here. Therefore, only the schools that are still in operation are considered for the list.
