Minister Dallas Alahapperum in a media briefing announced the plan to re-open schools in 4 stages. It will be as below.
- June 29 – Students are not required to come to the schools. Only the principal, teachers, staff, trustees and other persons involved in the management will come to the school.
- July 6 – Students in Grade 13, Grade 11 and Grade 05 will attend school.
- July 20 – Students in Grade 12 and Grade 10 will come to school.
- July 27 – Students from all other grades except for Grade 1 & 2 will attend school.
Children in Grade 1 & 2 will further enjoy holidays until further notice.
The new school timings are as below:
- Grade 3 & 4 – 7.30 AM to 11.30 AM
- Grade 5 – 7.30 AM to 12.30 PM
- Grade 6, 7, 8 & 9 – 7.30 AM to 1.30 PM
- Grade 10, 11, 12 & 13 – 7.30 AM to 3.30 PM
