The annual Inter-School Shakespeare Drama Competition, better known as ‘Shakes’ organised by the Colombo YMCA and the Rotary Club of Colombo North was held last week at the Lionel Wendt Theatre in Colombo. It is by far, the longest-standing Inter-School Shakespeare Drama Competition in the world.
A total of 33 schools (17 girls and 16 boys) competed for the top four spots in the Finals for the coveted champion’s shield.
Trinity College, Kandy became the champions after 15 long years.
Ananda College, Colombo became the runners-up of the event while St. Joseph’s College, Colombo produced the Best Actor award.
