National Cadet Corps conducted its Western Band Competition Camp last week at NCC Training Centre, Rantambe.
The Passing out Parade and the Awarding Ceremony was held under the patronage of Major General MMS Perera, Director NCC on 10 September 2019 at the Training Centre Parade Square amid a large gathering. 55 Western Band Platoons selected from Island wide schools competed for the Challenge Trophy.
Mahamaya Girls College, Kandy became champions of girls division while Bandaranayake College, Gampaha secured the Western Band Boys’ Championship.
Senior Officers of Tri-Services, Inspector of Training at Headquarters NCC, Senior Officers, and Commandant of the Training Centre, Principals and Teachers of respective schools witnessed the parade.
